The Storm King Art Center is primarily a 500 acre outdoor sculpture garden. When I was planning my journey I told my brother of my plan to begin by traveling along the route of the Hudson River to Albany. He recommended visiting the Art Center.
He didn't warn me how hilly the walkways were. Added to that, the temperature on August 9th was in the mid 80's with humidity something like 90%. Walking the grounds, I felt like I was going to dissolve, I was soaking wet with sweat. But I survived the three hours or so I spent hiking the trails and viewing the fascinating sculptures. If you enjoy art and particularly sculpture, you should visit the Center. I thank my brother for suggesting it.
