Less than a block from my house, this live secondary line, a house service, was pulled down. The tree (visible behind the traffic department car in picture 13) was removed by the village the day after the storm.
However the live exposed service drop was left laying next to the sidewalk, unprotected for five days. The woman in the affected house said she had called PSEG repeatedly to no avail. I said "This is crazy, there are little kids running up and dow and riding their bikes on the sidewalk, someone will be hurt", so I called the police. The officer showed up with a barricade and some caution tape a few minutes later. He said that they again called PSEG.
The next morning PSEG responded and put the service back up. But how they could leave a live wire just sitting there for six days, without so much as a barricade is beyond me.
