Panjumbie

Welcome to the Panjumbie.com Photo Gallery
After leaving Bend, I drove to Hood River, where my cousin John lives.

John, his wife Janet and his son Jim were not only gracious enough to let me stay with them, but took me all around northwest Oregon and a little of Washington state. It is absolutely beautiful country. I can see why they enjoy living there.

Hood River is on the bank of the Columbia River gorge, and is surrounded with more beautiful waterfalls than I have ever seen in one area. And then there is Mount Hood itself, still buried in deep snow in early May. The peak is the highest point in Oregon at over 11,000 feet. There are 12 glaciers on its slopes. It is considered a "potentially active" volcano, having last erupted in 1907. Beautiful country!
