Tropical Storm Isaias After Effects August 9, 2020
Isaias uprooted this large oak about four blocks from my house. But it did not fall all the way because its branches were entangled with the utility lines. It blocked a through neighborhood street.
It was fortunate that PSEG had rebuilt and ruggedized the major feeder here, because it did not fall or short out. But it took five days for a crew to show up to remove the tree, apparently because no-one actually lost power.
When the crew finally arrived, they quickly determined they would have to de-energize the feeder to safely disentangle it from the tree. I had never lost power during the storm, but now, five days later, my power was shut off for about two hours.
