In early August, I visited my brother and his wife at their home in western Massachusetts. While there, we attended a concert at the Mount Holyoke Summit House and another by the Boston Symphony Orchestra At Tanglewood.

A group, Zikina, performed at the Mount Holyoke Summit House. ​Led by Uganda native Gideon Ampeire, Zikina played a fusion of Ugandan folk music and American Jazz. Gideon plays the traditional Ugandan instruments, which he has fabricated himself.

The night started off foggy and rainy, but the clouds lifted as the concert ended.

MASSMoCA is located in former mill buildings in North Adams MA. The buildings were built in the late 1800s by a fabric printing company, the Arnold Print Works.

In 1942, Spraigue, an electronics parts manufacturer moved in, In 1986 they shut down, and MASSMoCA acquired the buildings, opening in 1999..
