In early August, I visited my brother and his wife at their home in western Massachusetts. While there, we attended a concert at the Mount Holyoke Summit House and another by the Boston Symphony Orchestra At Tanglewood.
A group, Zikina, performed at the Mount Holyoke Summit House. Led by Uganda native Gideon Ampeire, Zikina played a fusion of Ugandan folk music and American Jazz. Gideon plays the traditional Ugandan instruments, which he has fabricated himself.

My brother Steve, his wife and I attended a performance of the Boston Symphony Orchestra at their summer home, Tanglewood, on a very rainy August 9th.
On the agenda was a concerto by Rachmaninoff and "The Rite of Spring" by Stravinsky.

MASSMoCA is located in former mill buildings in North Adams MA. The buildings were built in the late 1800s by a fabric printing company, the Arnold Print Works.
In 1942, Spraigue, an electronics parts manufacturer moved in, In 1986 they shut down, and MASSMoCA acquired the buildings, opening in 1999..

Mt. Greylock, in the northwest corner of the state, is the highest point in Massachusetts at almost 3500 feet. There are paved roads to the top of the mountain.
