When considering interesting things to do in DC, I recalled seeing items on the Internet regarding the public audience to the PBS/WETA broadcast of "A Capitol Fourth" on the Capitol Grounds. Given my long involvement in television, I thought it would be interesting to attend.
But as the 4th approached, the weather forecast became iffy, with a considerable chance of storms. Not wanting to be stuck in a crowd outdoors in a thundertorm, I decided to attend the dress rehearsal on the evening of the 3rd.
Although the dress rehearsal was long and somewhat disorganized, I spent an enjoyable evening sitting on a blanket on the Capitol lawn.
